Log cabins in movies - 'The Journey of August King'

While I only caught part of the movie, I came away with some good images of a log cabin.
I could not find filming locations for the film other than 'North Carolina', so  . . . I don't know if the cabins were real or only just set pieces. Either way, they appeared very nice.
The movie is about a farmer helping a run away slave and show very well Early American Appalachia.

 Very rustic in it's appearance.

The shingle roof is excellent.
The log gable's suggest an old cabin. If it is not original and only a set piece some good research was done by the crew.
North Carolina provided a beautiful setting for the film.
