Movies with log cabins - "The Bourne Legacy"

This part of the movie is suppose to take place in Alaska. But I don't know if it was really shot there or not.

We don't get to see much of the interior, but the outside looks pretty cool.

It gets destroyed in the movie so it was probably just built for the show.

  1. I watched The Bourne Legacy in 2014 and still remember this scene. The movie had really a great story full of action adventure and mystery. Jeremy Renner is my favorite star and he is also in the move play the lead role as a Aaron Cross. I really enjoy full movie wit my friends and your blog takes me to that past time of my life.

  2. The cabin, and the opening scene, were filmed in a park area west of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, called Kananaskis. The location where the cabin existed (built for the movie, presumably, because it's no longer there) is near the Eau Claire Campground on Highway 44. If you open Google Earth and search Eau Claire Campground, then choose 3D view, you will be able to line up the view almost exactly to the distinctive mountains in the background when they walk towards the cabin after their initial meeting. The opening water scene, by the way, was filmed at Elbow Falls on Hwy 66 in Kananaskis. I ride my bike past there frequently.

  3. Further to my previous comment, I think I located the exact position where the cabin was built for the movie.  If you search for 50.842911, -115.170522 in Google Earth or Google Maps, it will take you to the exact spot.  Looking north from there you will see the mountains in the background of the shot where they walk to the cabin.  A few second later the camera changes to a different angle with a small stream in the foreground.  These things can be seen in Google.
